Volunteer Your Time
The Food Bank is always looking for volunteers. A volunteer can literally with worth their weight in gold, and it is only through the continued efforts of volunteers that the Food Bank of Northern Indiana can successfully serve the hungry in our community.
Volunteerism can take many forms at the Food Bank. The following volunteer opportunities currently exist.

Volunteer Opportunities:
Salvage / Reclamation: Volunteers must be 13 years of age or older or accompanied by an adult. Responsibilities may include sorting, separating, & organizing food product that is canned, boxed, or bottled.
Clerical: Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. Assitance is needed for data entry, answering phones, mailings, taking orders, & making appointments.
Special Events: Volunteers must be 13 years of age or older or accompanied by an adult. Events include:
- Letter Carrier Food Drive
- Taste of Michiana
- Breakfast at the Bank
- Crop-Walk
- National Make A Difference Day
- Food Bank House Raffle
- Food Drives
Pantry Reception / Stocker: Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. Duties may include stocking pantry shelves, assisting customers with shopping, & data entry. There is especially a need for volunteers in the pantry on Mondays from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Mobile Pantry - Food Distribution Assistant: Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older. Volunteers would travel in the Mobile Pantry to low-income neighborhoods to distribute bread & produce.
